Devon’s Wish
We are thrilled to share some unforgettable moments from Devon's Wish! Devon, who is bravely battling acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, is a huge cricket fan. Devon and his family received 4 VIP tickets to watch the England vs. Australia match on 29th September at The Unique Seat Stadium in Bristol.
Devon’s dad, Steven, shared their experience:
“For Devon, it was his first time watching England play cricket, which was incredible on its own. But then getting to meet and chat with the players took it to another level - he loved every minute of it! Personally, meeting Jos Buttler was a highlight for me as well and I have to say, Eoin Morgan was an absolute gentleman.
Seeing Devon so happy after everything he’s been through meant the world to Nic and me. It’s a day we will never forget.”
Paul Bradley, Manager of England Cricket Seniors, added:
“I’d like to extend my thanks to everyone who helped make Devon’s wish a reality at the Unique Seat Stadium. Steve, Nichola, Devon, and I had a fantastic day, and seeing Devon smile as he met his favourite players and joined the captains for the coin toss was priceless.
Though the weather cut the game short, it didn’t dampen the joy of the day. Special thanks to Richard Thompson, Matt Somerford, and Harry Todd from the ECB, Razi Ahmed and Neil Priscott from Gloucestershire CCC, and Barbara White and her team at When You Wish Upon A Star Charity for making this day possible. It was a privilege for me and the England Cricket Seniors to be part of it.”
